As the most populous of the four major islands in San Juan County San Juan Island and its principle town of Friday Harbor have an abundance of cultural and recreational activities to enjoy. The San Juan Community Theater hosts weekly plays and concerts and the recently completed Whale Museum is the leading local information center for everyone’s favorite resident whales. One of San Juan’s busiest times is the latter half of August when the San Juan County Fair sets up shop at the San Juan County Fairgrounds just outside Friday Harbor.
San Juan Island has several state parks, including the historic American Camp and British Camp parks which commemorate the 1859 “Pig War” between the United States and Great Britain. Lime Kiln Point and Cattle Point are the best locations for viewing the local orca whale pods and San Juan Island is the only island in the county with a commercial zip line. Other country attractions include vineyards and distilleries always proud to showcase their products. Roche Harbor Resort and Marina is a popular destination for visitors from around the world; its fine dining and scenic vistas are some of the best in all the San Juan Islands.

Every tour with Captain David and Captain Barbara is a different adventure. Rising and falling tidal and seasonal cycles develop a rhythm for all coastal life. The weather changes, lunar cycles, tides, currents, winds, waves and the lives of the ocean and coastline inhabitants are all connected and all constantly changing. And so with every breath of salt sprayed air that we take we experience something different. We can adjust to the level at which you're ready to adventure, to heel over with the boat and be part of the dynamics of nature. Your confidence will grow as you become accustomed to the dynamics of sailing in the Pacific Northwest. In a short time we feel connected to the ocean and linked to the life which flourishes here, present and amazed as the complex lives of whales, sea lions, seals, eagles, diving sea birds and salmon unfolds around us on our journey.

We are three business partners: Rich Anderson and Suzy and Hawk Pingree. We all work together to make wonderful small batch ciders and spirits here on San Juan Island. We make 12 different gins (really!), several delicious liqueurs and flavored brandies, and our premium award-winning apple brandy, which won gold and best in class from the American Craft Spirits Association, as well as best in class from the American Distilling Institute in 2014. We hope that you will join us for a tasting at the Distillery and Ciderworks, it's a lot of fun and actually educational. We have a beautiful all-copper Adrian still that we are usually running during tastings. We are just under a mile from Roche Harbor Resort.
